Conasrc 2014 VIM/VAR/ESR Experience Seminar

The Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) and Electroslag Remelting (ESR) processes are extensively used for the production of ingots of Ti-alloys, Superalloys, and High-Performance Steels. During the Seminar, we will make a presentation on the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software products MeltFlow-VAR™ and MeltFlow-ESR™ that we offer for the analysis and design of VAR and ESR processes. During the presentation, we will first provide an overview of the technical formulation of the models embedded in MeltFlow-VAR and MeltFlow-ESR. We will then discuss results from a variety of case studies that demonstrate the utility of MeltFlow-VAR and MeltFlow-ESR in the design and optimization of practical VAR and ESR processes.
